Following on from the success of the Winter Activity Programme, Dorset Council and Help & Kindness are running bookable activities for children which will encompass the Easter Holiday period.

Dear Parents and Carers,
Artz+ Sportz+ Xtra programme has now arrived hot off the press for March!
For all bookings please email us at leisure@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk with the following details;
- Please include your name and child’s/children’s name, telephone number and what dates you wish to request.
Bookings close on Wednesday 18th February and allocation will take place on Thursday 19th February.. Any remaining places will be advertised on Facebook.
Please note you can now request to book 1,2, or 3 of these sessions.

Dorchester Science Festival
Sensory Safe Science Day

Saturday 7th March 2026
Two sessions:
- 10.30am – 12.30pm
- 1.30pm – 3.30pm
📍 Borough Gardens House, Borough Gardens, Dorchester, DT1 1RG

As part of the festival, we would especially like to highlight the Sensory Safe Science Day, designed to provide a welcoming, engaging and quieter environment for children who are neurodivergent or who may benefit from a calmer setting.
What to Expect
These interactive sessions will offer a range of hands-on science activities, including:
- Practical physics experiments that children can try again at home
- Fun facts and games exploring the Moon and Mars through history
- The chance to examine fascinating creatures under a microscope
- Nature-based activities with Bugs, Bones and Botany
This event provides a wonderful opportunity for children aged 4+ years to explore science through play, discovery and creativity in a supportive environment.

- FREE drop-in event – no booking required
- Please note that, depending on demand, you may need to wait a short time before entry
- While waiting, families are welcome to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Borough Gardens Park

- A disabled access toilet is available on site
