We work with the full range of agencies to ensure that we meet the wider educational and care needs of our pupils. Regular meetings are held with these agencies with the aim of providing a seamless service for the pupils and their parents/carers.
Therapy Services
Speech and Language, Occupational and Physiotherapists attend throughout the week on a sessional basis to work with individuals, small groups and with staff, advising on wide range of difficulties and needs. Programmes are devised by the therapists for individual children to enable staff to maintain a daily therapy input.
Educational Psychologist
Referrals are made for a variety of reasons, but in particular where a child is not progressing as well as might be expected; equally it may be felt that an alternative placement would be more beneficial. Educational Psychologists are also called upon from time to time to assist with the development of programmes for children who present specific difficulties such as behaviour.
Social Workers
We work closely with social workers to both ensure that children are kept safe as well as helping families to access services that may be appropriate for them, such as after school and holiday clubs. Obviously if there are family difficulties or a breakdown in communication, this service may be called in.
Dental, Sight and Hearing Services
These agencies become involved as and when required. Where tests need to be carried out at school parents will be notified immediately.
Paediatricians
Clinics are held within school to facilitate the paediatrician seeing particular pupils along with parents/carers in an environment with which the pupils are familiar.
For any particular queries regarding the service provided by any of these agencies please approach the school directly.
