Hello Everyone!

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Gemma Brayshaw aka Dexter in Green Class’s mum. I am really passionate about Wyvern Academy and the wonderful opportunities it provides our children. As chairperson of the Friends of Wyvern charity I would like invite each of you to our Friends meetings which we hold regularly at school (a reminder text will go out each time). It is a great way to see what plans we have in the pipeline and make any suggestions for equipment or opportunities that you would like to see happen in school.  Please know that there would be no additional requests put on your time and you are welcome also to come along and just listen to what we discuss and have a nice cup of tea.

As you may be aware our big project currently is a sensory garden accessible for the whole academy to enjoy. We have some wonderful events planned for the coming year and one additional way we have found to raise funds is absolutely brilliant. It’s called Easyfundraising. Companies such as Amazon, eBay, Sainsbury’s and John Lewis sign up and donate a percentage of what the customer spends to a charity of the consumer’s choice. This is the way that each of these brands has decided to be the fairest way to distribute their charitable donations. I have tried and tested the easyfundraising website by signing up Friends of Wyvern, along with friends and family of mine, and since June we have raised over £90 at no additional costs to us, money that would have otherwise been wasted.

So how does it work?  If you visit the www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/friends-of-wyvern website you can sign up and download the app to your phone or use the PC to do the same. Each time you go to log on to eBay or Amazon etc. you click the app first and easyfundraising will collect a donation of usually 1.5 and 4% of your total spend for the charity. They then send Friends of Wyvern a cheque quarterly. We would be grateful if you could spend the time to have a little look and see if this something that may raise us some extra pounds toward the garden and other projects. Together we have the chance to make this a great resource for Friends of Wyvern.

If anyone has any questions about the charity, meeting, events or easyfundraising I am always available at the email address below. Please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your time.
