Signing is a huge priority at Wyvern Academy, given the number of pupils and students who benefit from being able to communicate by this means, and as such is a big part of our total communication philosophy.
To this end we constantly strive to ensure that all staff are provided with opportunities for building their vocabulary of everyday words and phrases, and this page is designed to give parents and carers at home the same opportunity.
Signalong is a key word sign-supported communication system, based on British Sign Language and is used in spoken word order. It uses speech, sign, body language, facial expression and voice tone to reference the link between sign and word.
