Update to Parents and Carers 5th February 2021

It has been a relatively quiet week in school this week. All staff and student lateral flow tests were negative again, which is very reassuring. We have begun the process for booking staff vaccination but at time of writing this I don’t know when our appointments will be offered yet. We have requested for them to be during half term but there is no guarantee they will be at this stage. Should we be offered appointments at DCH next week we will do our very best to manage the impact on classes but hope that you would agree it is important we take up the offers for the safety of the children and staff and the school as a whole. As soon as we have more information on any impact it may have on classes school will contact you immediately.

It was Children’s Mental Health Week this week and in school all sorts of ‘expressive art’ was done by classes and at today’s feelings-themed online assembly, certificates were awarded for lovely art work in several classes.

Finally a plea to the families of pupils currently attending to do all you can to stick to the national guidance on not mixing outside of your household and support bubbles. While we are doing so so much to keep school safe, and while lockdown is restricting our numbers as well as what everyone can do, it remains a fact that how people behave outside of school affects what we are able to do inside school.

Have a lovely weekend.
