Sixth Form News, February 2020

This term in 6th form we have introduced small Emotional Literacy groups, and are embedding the ideas further into the curriculum.

Alison Cooper has completed her Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) training and has been putting it to good use! We’ve just set up “The Hive” as a separate room for Emotional  Literacy, where pupils can have some time to themselves, to think and relax or to read and enjoy the company of others. We’re not ready to start any individual sessions yet, but watch this space!

As usual, Endeavour Class have been busy with WyFri. As well as all the shopping and serving the customers, the students also learn how to wash their uniforms and iron them.  Patric has recently joined the class in January, and is already a super waiter!

Discovery Class have been busy with two business enterprise projects this half term. We have been collecting pine cones to make bird feeders and making valentines cards that have both sold well within school.  A lot of the card and ribbons used for our cards have been donated which we were very grateful to receive.

We have continued to be out and about in the community, regularly writing shopping lists and travelling by public bus to buy what we need to cook our own meals in school. We are also regular customers at WyFri and are pleased to support Endeavour Class.
