It was lovely to see families, friends, students and staff all together in the hall for Harvest Festival today – a real Wyvern Community event. Teacher Debbie Tomlinson and Burgundy Class students led the occasion with the story of The Little Red Hen illustrating the themes of how our bread is made and the importance of thankfulness.
We had a fine collection of foods and, importantly, also some bathroom and hygiene items that can be equally important to families in need. As in the last few years our collection was gratefully received by Brenda from the Weymouth Food Bank who spoke about the alarming increase in need of food banks and the difference our contribution will make.
Thank you to everyone who came, contributed and sang with us.
